Versions of Office affected by this change To prepare for this change, we recommend that you work with the business units in your organization that use macros in their Office files, such as the Finance department, and with independent software vendors (ISVs) that you rely on who make use of macros in Office files. If you do enable the policy, your organization won’t be affected by this default change.įor more information, see Use policies to manage how Office handles macros. We recommend enabling this policy as part of the security baseline for Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise. Organizations can use the Block macros from running in Office files from the Internet policy to prevent users from inadvertently opening files from the internet that contain macros.
